The gentle subtlety of the colours in this satellite image are even more appealing when seen digitally printed onto our high quality silk - from China, of course - to create a wonderfully original scarf.
It is another example of the coming together of nature, technology and high resolution images to create something original and beautiful that is very Weston.
And also very "China" as it features the Tian Shan mountains as they run down to the Yellow Sea. Tian means heavenly, and there is indeed a Heavenly Lake in these mountains - the deep blue shape in the centre of the image (we think).
The Tian Shan mountains were well known to travellers and traders on the Silk Road as they had to travel south or north of them.
