Citrine’s often yellow tones - from iron (ferric) impuritites - have historically associated it with recharging physical and mental strength, so seen as particularly effective for journeys.
It is one of the most popular gemstones available today, and belongs to the very large family of quartz mostly found in Brazil
Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in the Earth's continental crust, and its name comes from the German word "Quarz" meaning hard.
Pure quartz is colourless and transparent – but there are many colourful varieties including amethyst, opal, onyx, jasper, Tiger’s Eye and citrine. It is difficult to tell cut Citrine from Yellow Topaz, but we think this is uniquely beautiful.
