This scarf has marvellously rich blue, pink and purples hues that surround and complement that powerful band of blue that washes through the design - and has proved very popular with retail buyers.
As you can see from the folded image, it can be tied and worn in several ways to make distinctive versions of the same scarf with the blue as dominant or recessive as you choose.
Calcite is found in gently, slowly and cooly created sedimentary rocks. It is often called alabaster, and is a key constituent of marble - you will recognise those wavy lines you see in marble.
It is 68 x 68 cms, so half the size of our large 138 x 138 cms scarves, and much less than half the price of those scarves.
It is the same satin silk, sourced in China, printed in Como, Northern Italy, and was recently being offered by prestige retailers at £75.
