Mica has a crystalline formation, and the largest single crystal weighed 330 tonnes. Mica is stable when exposed to electricity, light, moisture, and extreme temperatures, so is widely used in construction, and for industrial processes, but it was also used for cave paintings, and in Native American pottery.

Our interest, however, is in its natural beauty as this piece of sheet Mica shows in its structure, "draughtsmanship" and colour co-ordination.
